Who are we?

Indian Creek Agriculture Department is located at Indian Creek High School in Shabbona, IL. Our department offers a wide variety of coursework for our students which is rigorous to help better our students. Students in the agriculture classroom interact with a wide variety of technology each day and have the ability to learn real-world skills that can be easily translated into career success. Our students have gone on to community colleges, universities and trade schools. We are proud of our graduates!

What courses do we offer?

Our program is a part of the CTE department at the high school. CTE stands for: Career & Technical Education. This department is recognized for providing skills for students who are career ready as they leave high school courses. You can find a list of our offerings and courses that will prepare you for your future at the link below:

Why is FFA required?

Our FFA Organization is a 'required' part of each and every course taught in the Indian Creek Agriculture Department. This is due to the fact that our chapter is a "Century Chapter" in the state of Illinois. We require each and every student to participate in our FFA chapter. Our school feels this is important because it provides the real-world experience that every student needs to fully learn curriculum. For example: Any student who is learning what slope is and how to figure it in comparison to farmland should be able to head out to a field and do it for real! This experience to learn inside as well as outside of the classroom is why agriculture courses and FFA are so unique and important to each and every student at ICHS. Each student is required to attend or participate in ONE event throughout the entire year. We offer over 30 different events, this isn't too difficult! Students often go above and beyond once they get a chance to experience the fun of IC FFA! Use the link to check what our chapter has to offer!
